Company Description

The Newberry Fire Department (NFD) is a combination department with both paid and volunteer firefighters.  We answer all types of emergency calls including fires, accidents, medical, and hazmat calls. We are very active with fire prevention activities and community events. It is our mission "to serve our community with the highest level of courage, compassion, and professionalism."

Fun Fact​

With an over 150 year history, we were once the home of the state's fastest fire horse, Old Joe, in the early 1900s.

Primary Careers and Earnings Potential

Firefighter, Fire Engineer, Lieutenant, Captain, Fire Marshal, Fire Chief.  Starting pay for a firefighter is currently around $40,000.
